Six Olympic medalists to take on Canada’s best at 2014 National Rowing Championships in Victoria, live-stream powered by viaSport

Vancouver, BC – viaSport is thrilled to partner with Rowing Canada Aviron and the Victoria City Rowing Club to live-stream the semi-final and final races of the 2014 RBC National Rowing Championships this weekend, November 8 and 9, 2014.

Six London 2012 Olympic medalists will be competing at the 2014 Nationals, including Will Crothers, Conlin McCabe and Rob Gibson of the Men’s 8 and Natalie Mastracci, Ashley Brzozowicz and Vancouver’s Lauren Wilkinson of the Women’s 8.

When to watch:

  • Saturday, November 8 (12:45 – 4:00 pm PT)
  • Sunday, November 9 (12:00 – 2:45 pm PT)

“This will be the first time that RBC 2014 National Rowing Championships are broadcast and the generous support of viaSport will ensure that they will be seen by rowing fans from across the country,” says Donna Atkinson, CEO of Rowing Canada Aviron. “Most importantly, it will give the family and friends of the athletes a chance to watch their loved ones perform their very best as they compete for the title of Rowing Canada Aviron 2014 National Champion.”

The multi-camera set-up will provide viewers with live-coverage and commentary from rowing experts. Full start to finish coverage of the 2000m course will also be available in a post-event, on demand show in the weeks following the event.

“In its entirety, the live-stream and post-event on demand show will provide our most comprehensive event coverage to-date,” says viaSport Executive Producer, Dave Stewart. “With the help of a BCIT production crew and live commentators, our viewers will be transported to Victoria’s best seat in the clubhouse.”
