Changes to May intake for Hosting BC grant

In light of COVID-19, the May 2020 intake of the Hosting BC grant will not be going forward. The regular intake schedule for Hosting BC will resume in September, at which point events from November 2020 to February 28, 2022 will be eligible to apply.
.This change does not represent a reduction in the overall funding available for the Hosting BC program and the September intake will accommodate any increase in applications without reducing the amount typically available to applicants. The September intake will also allow for up to four applications per sport discipline (an increase from the normal two) to account for any potential increase in requests due to the having 1one fewer intake this year.
If you or your sport organization is planning on hosting an event prior to November 2020 that will comply with the relevant public health guidelines and are eligible under the most recent Hosting BC guidelines, please contact grants@viasport.ca and we will be happy to discuss what options are available.
