Organizations

Amateur sport is delivered by many organizations, large and small, some private companies and some non-profit societies. At viaSport, we work in collaboration with designated Provincial Sport Organizations (PSO), Disability Sport Organizations (DSO) and Multi-Sport Organizations (MSO) to help make sport better.

Designated Organizations

viaSport designated PSOs and DSOs are separate non-profit societies recognized as the provincial authority by their national sport governing body (NSO) to steward and grow their respective sports in BC. MSOs are also separate not-for-profit societies responsible for specialized or regional multi-sport program delivery, technical leadership, and recognition.

All viaSport designated sport organizations are governed by their own Board of Directors, uphold their own bylaws and policies, and have individuals, local sport clubs, or associations as members. All viaSport designated sport organizations and their members are committed to the high-quality delivery of sport.
