HR Playbook and Best Practices

Last year, we asked sport leaders from across B.C. to identify some of the biggest challenges facing their organizations. Unsurprisingly, human resources came up as an area of need, especially among sport organizations with limited staff. With funding from the Province of B.C. and in collaboration with provincial sport organization leaders, viaSport has recently completed work with Beacon HR to address this need within sector organizations, and the result is the HR Playbook. This digital suite of resources provides information, guidance, best practices, and professionally-developed templates that organizations can utilize to streamline, benchmark or otherwise enhance their recruitment, hiring and retention strategies, policies and practices.
Who’s it For?
This free resource is for all sport organizations to use, download, and share in the interest of strengthening their own capacity.
The sections of this Playbook are organized in the order of the candidate-to-employee lifecycle. An important part of optimizing HR resilience is to ensure a consistent candidate and employee experience while maximizing opportunities to reinforce your organization’s core values, workplace culture and employer brand every step of the way as you attract, retain and engage the most passionate talent in the field.
