Designated Sport Organizations in BC
Accredited, recognized, and affiliated sport organizations make sport better through their competence, professionalism, and compliance with viaSport standards.

viaSport Designated Sport Organizations 2023
viaSport collaborates with many amateur sport organizations to elevate and expand the reach of amateur sport, with the goal of creating greater impact. As the lead agency, viaSport stewards the Government’s investment in amateur sport by setting standards, providing resources and monitoring compliance.
Through this process, viaSport has established a framework that includes three levels of designation, designed to celebrate organizations based on their achievement of established standards.
This framework exclusively applies to Provincial Sport Organizations, Disability Sport Organizations and Multi-Sport Organizations.
Accredited organizations are PSOs, DSOs and MSOs that are achieving the highest designation standards.
To ensure Accredited status — and eligibility for Province of BC funding — viaSport assesses organizations through annual reporting and periodic evaluation.
Accredited Provincial and Disability Sport Organizations (PSO and DSO)
Accredited organizations are the provincial authoritative bodies for a sport or sport discipline and are responsible for the sports’ oversight, growth, and development, as acknowledged by their National Sport Organization (NSO).
