BC Ferries and viaSport are thrilled to announce the opening of the BC Ferries Disability Sport Experience grant, a new program to reduce travel barriers for those with a disability and participating in sport. This program follows on the success of the original BC Ferries Sport Experience Program, which alleviates travel costs for amateur sport organizations and their athletes

The BC Ferries Disability Sport Experience Program provides travel support by assisting with ferry travel costs specifically for athletes, coaches, athlete companions, and team managers affiliated with Disability Sport Organizations. Applications may be submitted individually or on behalf of a group for tournaments such as participation camps, events, or regular league play.

Both BC Ferries and viaSport expect the new program will be as successful as the original and hope it will support as many athletes as possible. Applications must be submitted a minimum of 12 business days before the first day of travel. You can check the program’s guidelines and detailed information on how to apply and eligibility here.
