Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance – Recognizing Canada’s top sport tourism leaders, initiatives and events
OTTAWA, ON: The best in Canadian Sport Tourism will be honoured in 2016 with the 10th annual Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA) PRESTIGE (Program Recognizing Exceptional Sport Tourism Initiatives, Games & Events) Awards. Nominations are now open in seven categories to see who will join the veritable who’s who of Canadian sport leaders and events that have been honoured since the awards began in 2007.
The PRESTIGE Awards recognize outstanding contributions in the sport tourism industry from individuals, companies and organizations. Over the years recipients have ranged from such major multi-sport events as the 2010 Olympic Winter and Paralympic Games to local community events with a significant grassroots impact. The awards have also recognized the outstanding contributions of companies and people who have given dedicated service to supporting and staging excellent sporting events.
“Canada has once again led the way in bidding for and hosting events in 2015, the Year of Sport in Canada. By honouring the people, the events, and the organizations who work daily to promote Canadian sport tourism, we celebrate their enormous contributions to our industry,” said Rick Traer, CEO, CSTA. “Sport tourism is now a major force in the national economy and tourism industry. These awards highlight the people, organizations and events that help make our sporting community so strong.”
The PRESTIGE Awards will be presented on Monday, March 7, 2016 during the CSTA’s annual Sport Events Congress at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa.
Deadline for nomination: December 23rd at 8:00 p.m. ET.
