PacificSport Northern BC hosting Para-Athlete Performance and Development Camp

Mar 04, 2016

The 2016 Northern BC Para-Athlete Performance and Development Camp, hosted by PacificSport Northern BC, is being held in Prince George, BC on March 4 and 5th.

The Camp provides opportunities for para-athletes and their coaches, parents and allied health professionals to participate in education and training seminars developed specifically to address the long term athlete development, sport participation and performance and adaptive needs of para-athletes.

Tonight Paralympian Jessica Vliegenthart will provide an inspirational address: “Grassroots to Gold” describing her Olympic journey through life and sport.

“We are so pleased to have had the support of the Province of BC, the Canadian Paralympic Committee and viaSport through the Northern Sport Accessibility 2015 Initiative to provide this opportunity”; says Leslie Ann Wirth, Executive Director of PacificSport Northern BC. “This camp is the first of its kind and we are proud to offer this level of service to current and aspiring para-athletes. We have also benefited from funding provided by the 2015 Canada Winter Games Legacy Committee to enable athletes living throughout the North with an equal opportunity to participate.”
