Enhanced Excellence Funding
Support for high performance programming is available to select viaSport Accredited Provincial and Disability Sport Organizations through Enhanced Excellence Funding.

Funding Eligibility
The Evaluation is used to assess high performance priorities for Provincial Sport Organizations and Disability Sport Organizations, reviewed annually. Provincial or Disability sport organizations achieving strong scores in this category qualify for Enhanced Excellence funding.
Enhanced Excellence funded sports are contributing to optimizing provincial high-performance programs through:
- Targeted athletes’ ability to convert to National teams
- Increased National Sport Organization alignment and national initiatives occurring in BC
- Increased pathway alignment through establishment of minimum standards and ongoing monitoring
- Professionalization of provincial coaches
- Increased access to sport, science and sport medicine services

Funding Process
Accredited Provincial and Disability sport organizations achieving top scores in the Excellence category of the Evaluation process are invited to apply for this funding. A further review is then conducted to assess the organization’s level of high performance programming available to their targeted athletes.
This information is assessed by viaSport and our program partner Canadian Sport Institute —Pacific to gain a deeper understanding of the program benchmarking, fitness testing, planning and performance interventions that each sport incorporates into their high performance programming. Assessments for funding are only available in alignment with the formal Evaluation process.
