Yue-Ching Cheng

Yue-Ching Cheng is Department Chair of Recreation Studies at Langara College, where he prepares future recreation professionals and leads applied research focused on community wellbeing, equitable access to recreation, and evidence-informed decision-making. His career spans higher education, municipal recreation, and research partnerships with local governments and provincial organizations.

Yue-Ching has served in governance with Triathlon BC, the Tri-Cities Triathlon Club, and has supported the BC Summer Games as Sport Chair, and has worked in recreation leadership roles across several municipalities in Metro Vancouver. He grew up as a competitive swimmer, now competes in distance running, and enjoys spending time surfing and paddling whenever he has the opportunity. He brings experience in governance, research, and public-sector leadership to help strengthen British Columbia’s sport system.
