Designations for Multi-Sport Organizations
Together with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, viaSport works with Mult-Sport Organizations in BC to support High-Performance sport, sport science and safety, athlete and coach education, and the recognition of outstanding achievements in sport. The Designation Program helps to ensure that minimum standards are met by Multi-Sport Organizations in the delivery of this work.

Eligibility
viaSport identifies Multi-Sport Organizations eligible for the Designation Program based on their ability to deliver a specific service or services to the sport community, or to a select region, in BC.
Multi-Sport Organizations are appointed by viaSport as Accredited and deliver athlete, coach and sport services or education to a wide range of sport organizations across the provincial sport community. Or, they play a unique role in the stewardship of High-Performance sport, technical leadership in sport science and medicine, and in the recognition of outstanding achievements in sport.
Additional information and requirements can be found within the Designation Program Policy. Organizations meeting the criteria are granted viaSport Designation, pending approval from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Sport.

Requirements
Designated Multi-Sport organizations are expected to:
- Sign an Annual Agreement, accepting the responsibility to uphold the standards of the Designation
- Complete and submit annual reporting stipulated by viaSport
- Adhere to branding guidelines and display the appropriate viaSport Designated logo on the website
- Have board members and identified staff complete safe sport training, as defined by viaSport
- Participate in a deeper organizational Evaluation, at the discretion of viaSport
Accredited Multi-Sport Organizations are also required to carry out activities that fill a specific gap in programming or leadership across the province or within a specific region, as defined in their Agreement, such as:
- high performance
- sport science, sport medicine
- sport recognition
- physical literacy
- Local Sport Organization development
Benefits for Sports
viaSport works with multi-sport organizations to positively impact the quality of amateur sport in BC by promoting accountability and transparency. In turn, all Designated organizations have access to the following benefits to assist them in their endeavours to make sport better:
- viaSport application grants supporting programs that nurture the growth of athletes, coaches, and officials
- Sector engagement that facilitate cross-sport collaboration and viaSport guidance
- Education and training opportunities around leadership, governance, sport safety and other topics
- Mediation services for issues resolution
- Endorsement on the viaSport website as an organization fostering high quality programming and training that fosters a culture of operational excellence
- Use of an annual viaSport Designation logo signaling publicly they are accountable for meeting high quality standards in sport delivery, organizational leadership and governance
