Research and evidence on concussions is evolving and the knowledge base is continually changing. These websites are updated on a regular basis to provide current information, tools, and resources to support concussion recognition, diagnosis, treatment, and management.

Education

The Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT) is a series of free online educational modules and resources addressing concussion recognition, diagnosis, treatment, and management. Good concussion management may decrease the risk of brain damage and potentially reduce long-term health issues.

The Coaching Association of Canada offers online e-learning modules called Making Head Way.

If you would like to run in-person training for your club or team, SportMedBC offer a 2 hour workshop that is led by an experienced health care practitioner and focuses on sharing the latest medical and scientific information about brain injuries, concussion management guidelines, sport risk factors and prevention techniques.

Finding a Trained Health Care Practitioner

Policies and Procedure Templates

The Canadian Guideline on Concussion in Sport is available to help sport organizations address 7 key areas of concussion management. It was developed to ensure that athletes with a suspected concussion receive timely and appropriate care, and proper management to allow them to return to their sport.

Concussion Protocol resources for sport organizations are available on the Parachute website, including a template policy and protocol as well as downloadable assessment tools

The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sports Institute Network (COPSIN) released its High Performance Sport-Related Concussion Guidelines.
