How does volunteerism make sport better

Sport offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities like event hosting, supporting athletes, and supporting sport organizations in creating and delivering programs.

Volunteerism in sport plays a crucial role in enabling sport. As coaches, officials, or supporters, volunteers are often front-and-center during play, but volunteers also enable sport from behind the scenes, whether it’s through fundraising, operations and administrative support, or on governing boards.

Volunteerism increases community engagement. Every volunteer is seen as a role model, an ambassador for the sport, they inspire, motivate others to join the sport or volunteer alongside them.

Why you should Volunteer – Importance of volunteerism in sport

Volunteers share their time, skills, and passion — without financial compensation — to do whatever is needed to help make sport better.

Apart from being an important support engine for sports, athletes, and organizations, volunteers help create an inclusive and welcoming environment, which helps in keeping people engaged and interested in sport and physical activity.

By volunteering, you have a positive impact on many lives and the sport community. Your contribution ensures that events run smoothly, athletes have fair competition, and spectators enjoy the experience.
