Elevating Sport Coaching 

Coaches are key contributors to the health and well-being of athletes. viaSport is part of a large network of partners that deliver coaching programs across Canada and supports

Making Coaching better in BC 

viaSport is the recognized as British Columbia’s coaching representative with the Coaching Association of Canada. We offer National Coach Certification Program (NCCP) multi-sport courses and explores ways to elevate coach education.   

At viaSport we work to ensure high quality sport coaching by offering multi-sport education, providing opportunities for coaches to strengthen their skills through mentorship, and supporting our designated organizations in furthering their coach development.

viaSport’s role in coach education

Our role in coach education is to provide clear pathway and learning opportunities for aspiring coaches in BC by:

  • Delivering multi-sport education (Home study, facilitated courses and e-learning) programs in our role as the provincial representative for multi-sport coaching
  • Partnering with external and designated organizations to reduce barriers to education and develop coach capacity
  • Evaluating designated organizations on their capacity to deliver the nationally set sport-specific standard for their sport
  • Validating secondary school graduation credits for coaches with the BC Government External Sport Credentials Program

Our Impact in elevating and standardizing coaching across BC 

viaSport continues to support PSOs in addressing challenges in coaching education and training through mentorship, recognition and grant programming.

The Coaching Association of Canada educates and certifies coaches, and celebrates their achievements at all levels of sport. The CAC and its partners are stewards of nation-wide standards and ethics in coach education and development.

Designated Sport Organizations

viaSport collaborates with many amateur sport organizations to elevate and expand the reach of amateur sport, with the goal of creating greater impact. Provincial Sport Organizations, Disability Sport Organizations and Multi-Sport Organizations are part of this program.
