Evaluation: Multi-Sport Organizations

Evaluation is central to Multi-Sport Organizations maintaining the viaSport Accredited Designation standards. Periodic assessment is used to monitor the organization’s ability to uphold the Program standards, as well as identify trends and opportunities to strenghten the overall health of amateur sport in the province.

Evaluation Process

It is the responsibility of the board of each organization to ensure policies and strategies are in place that adhere to the Designation Program standards for Accredited sports, which are measured in the Evaluation. Each question must be answered by the organization using the rating system outlined below and supported with documentation.

1 = Work is not formalized (not occurring).

2 = Minimum standards in place.

3 = A strong foundation is in place.

4 = Best practices are in place.

Once the answers are assessed by viaSport, each organization receives a final report and score card outlining strengths and areas for development, a confirmation of minimum standards (if met), and a process for appeal.

The first Evaluation for Multi-Sport Organizations was conducted in 2023 and included 11 organizations. An Evalutaion report is unavailable due to lack of comparative data.
