Changes to viaSport BC Board Directors

Aug 15, 2025, VANCOUVER, BC — viaSport British Columbia is announcing changes to its Board of Directors. Mark Faubert and Meghan Hansen are welcomed as new members, while Rick Ramsbottom, Eron Main, and Sam Punzo have left the viaSport Board.

Geoffrey Wong remains as the Board Chair. Kacey Dalzell, remains in the Vice Chair role. Additionally, she has assumed the role of Governance Committee Chair from Sarah Harper who retains her position on the board as a valued director. Erica McGuinness continues in her role as Treasurer, and as the Finance and Audit Committee Chair.

“I would like to thank Rick Ramsbottom who is leaving the board after serving the maximum term of nine years, three of those as Board Chair leading the board on many key issues,” said Geoffrey Wong, viaSport BC Board Chair. “I would also like to thank Eron Main and Sam Punzo for their impactful work with the Board. The contributions of all three of these former directors have been remarkable, guiding viaSport with sound leadership advice.”

Currently, the viaSport BC’s board is comprised of Geoff Wong, Kacey Dalzell, Erica McGuinness, Sarah Harper, Dr. Brad Baker (Tsnomot), Elaine Sanders, Erin Embley, Meghan Hansen, and Mark Faubert.

Meghan Hansen is the Chief Financial Officer of Olympic International Sales, bringing over 14 years of experience in audit, financial reporting, and leadership in purpose-driven organizations. A former varsity soccer athlete at UBC, Meghan has always seen sport as an essential part of life. She is proud to support viaSport’s vision of a thriving, inclusive sport culture and is inspired by the positive role sport continues to play in both her community and her daughter’s life.

Mark Faubert is a veteran executive with more than 40 years of leadership in the resort, hospitality, and sport sectors. He has a deep understanding of recreational facility operations and community sport engagement. Since retiring in 2023, Mark has dedicated his time to volunteering, giving back to the community and supporting his lifelong passion for sport. His career is a testament to his commitment to both the sport and hospitality industries, blending strategic vision and operational expertise, demonstrating a deep-rooted dedication to community recreation.

“In addition to a rich combined experience in sport and recreation, both Meghan and Mark also bring significant business experience to the Board,” said Andrew Price, CEO, viaSport BC. “This aligns well with our efforts to grow viaSport’s footprint across the province, strengthening amateur sport in BC.”

viaSport continues to welcome expressions of interest to join its Board of Directors. In addition to a passion to help all British Columbians develop and realize their potential through sport, viaSport is eager to further enhance its regional representation bringing new perspectives from across the province, as well as skills, expertise and lived experience.

viaSport British Columbia is a not-for-profit organization created in 2011 as a legacy of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. With the support of the provincial government, viaSport leads the governance, promotion and development of amateur sport in British Columbia to build a stronger, more effective system that brings more families to the field of play, more fans into the stands, more athletes to the podium, and more sporting events to the province. viaSport directors are volunteers and nominated for up to three terms with a maximum of three years per term.
