Deadline extended! Call for Applications: Northern Sport Accessibility Advisory Team

On behalf of the Northern Sport Accessibility 2015 partners, viaSport is pleased to be accepting applications for a three-year appointment to the Northern Sport Accessibility Advisory Team. This group will act in a consultative capacity with viaSport to help shape a Northern strategy that is universally accessible, community centered, provincially driven and nationally aligned.
Starting with Northern Sport Accessibility 2015, the team will advise and direct the development of an adaptive sport strategy that can be implemented throughout Northern BC and adopted in other regions. Members will provide input and critical feedback that will shape the role of a sport accessibility coordinator and ensure that resources are aligned with strategic objectives. They will also provide practical recommendations on how to increase efficiency, showcase best practices and expand the pilot project to other regions in the province.
Applicants for regional representative positions (detailed below) should possess a strong connection to sport in Northern BC, knowledge of specific barriers to participation and be active leaders within their communities.
- A representative from the Health Sector
- A representative from the Education Sector
- Disability sport organization (DSO) representative(s)
- Para-sport provincial sport organization (PSO) representative
Members can expect to attend quarterly meetings – a minimum of one (1) annual in person meeting and the balance held by video or web conference.
