Eight Coach Developer Core Training Courses now open across BC

viaSport opens eight Coach Developer Core Training courses across BC, which involves Core Training for Learning Facilitators and Core Training for Coach Evaluators. These two courses are both being offered in Kamloops, Burnaby, Prince George and Victoria.
The Core Training for Learning Facilitators course is intended for current multi-sport or sport-specific Learning Facilitators (LF), or coaches that have been identified by their sport to become trained as a LF.
This is a six-hour workshop that all LF candidates must take. The workshop introduces the goals and philosophy of the NCCP, how to facilitate modules, and teaches the instructional design of the modules.
Those who take this training will receive credit for the following modules on their NCCP transcript:
- Overview of the workshop and the NCCP
- Functions of a Learning Facilitator
- Elements of an Effective Learning Activity
- Stages of Group Development
- Nature of the group
The Core Training for Coach Evaluators course is intended for current multi-sport or sport-specific Coach Evaluators (CE), or coaches that have been identified by their sport to become trained as a CE.
This is a five-hour workshop that all CE candidates must take. The workshop focuses on the evaluation principles and processes that CEs need to follow when evaluating coaches.
Those who take this training will receive credit for the following modules on their NCCP transcript:
- Overview of the NCCP
- The Certification Process
- Learning to Debrief
- Action Planning
