Seven B.C. women recognized as influential sport leaders in Canada

Seven B.C. women recognized as influential sport leaders in Canada  
CAAWS releases list of  influential women in sport and physical activity for 2013
Vancouver, BC – viaSport British Columbia is thrilled to congratulate seven B.C. women named to the Most Influential Women in Sport and Physical Activity List, presented annually by the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS).

The following B.C. women have been recognized for their incredible leadership and influence in sport in British Columbia, in Canada and on the international playing field in 2013:

•          Beverly Boys – Official; “A Level” International judge; coach from (Surrey, BC)
•          Carol Huynh – FILA Panelist to IOC to Save Olympic Wrestling (Hazelton, BC)
•          Dr. Jane Moran – Chair ISU Medical Commission; IOC Medical Commission (Victoria, BC)
•          Christine Sinclair – Captain, Canadian Women’s Soccer Team (Burnaby, BC)
•          Tricia Smith – VP, International Rowing Federation (Vancouver, BC)
•          Michelle Stilwell – Paralympian; MLA; Advocate (Parksville, BC)
•          Dr. Joan Wharf Higgins – Professor and Research Chair; Volunteer (Victoria, BC)
