Synchro BC Welcomes Four New Board of Directors

BURNABY, November 16, 2016 – Synchro BC welcomes four new members to its Board of Directors. RaeAnne Rose (President), Jennifer Kryworuchko (Vice-President, Finance), Sonja Dickinson (Director) and Susan Kemper (Director) were elected at the organization’s Annual General Meeting in Burnaby on October 16, 2016.
RaeAnne Rose, from Surrey, served as Treasurer and President of the BC Aquasonics Synchronized Swim Club from 2012 to 2016 and has been involved in synchronized swimming as a parent, volunteer, and official since 2009. She is also President of Pharos Fundraising Strategy + Communication and a Director of DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society.
Jennifer Kryworuchko, from Vancouver, has been involved in synchronized swimming as a parent and volunteer since 2011. She parents several high-performance athletes, is President of Pacific Wave Synchro, and past President of Canoe Kayak Saskatchewan. She is also a Registered Nurse and Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Centre for Health Services and Policy Research at the University of British Columbia.
Sonja Dickinson, from North Vancouver, is an active sport volunteer in synchronized swimming and volleyball, as a parent of two high performance athletes. She also served as Director, Vice-Chair, and Co-Chair of Pacific Wave Synchro for four years and has been involved in synchronized swimming as a parent, volunteer, and referee since 2011.
Susan Kemper, from Langley, is President of Raedyn Choreography and Consulting and Head Coach of the BC Aquasonics Synchronized Swim Club. She is an NCCP Level 5 Chartered Professional Coach and coached Synchro Canada’s National Team for seven years, including Head Coach of the 2008 Olympic Team. She is also a Synchro Canada Comp-Dev Master Learning Facilitator.
“Our membership is passionate about this sport and the impact we have on athletes of all ages and abilities,” stated Ms. Rose after the election. “I am honoured to have been elected as President of Synchro BC and I look forward to working with our board, staff, and the membership across BC to address our regional challenges, to increase participation, and work together on the important goals we have for our sport.”
“I would also like to extend our thanks to out-going board members Shannon Higgins, Grainne McElroy, Danette Lankmayr, Tara Gant, and Christine Miller for their commitment to synchronized swimming in British Columbia.”
Incumbent Director Rhonda Vanderfluit, from Vancouver, was also re-elected for a two-year term. Continuing their two-year mandates on Synchro BC’s Board of Directors are Anne-Marie North, from Burnaby, Elise Cantner from Vancouver, and Carol Stewart from Victoria. Stewart was appointed by the board to fill the recent Vice-President vacancy.
