Your sport has the best information to help you. Your journey, called the coaching pathway, can be a combination of technical sport-specific courses and multi-sport courses.

The best first step is to connect with your Provincial Organization and ask about the coach pathway.

Unfortunately, to ensure a good learning experience, viaSport upholds a strict maximum for courses.

Please visit our course listings page to see the next available course in BC.

Unfortunately, due to system limitations, viaSport is unable to accommodate transfers, swaps, or substitutions for courses.

Please refer to our refund policy and, if you feel you qualify for a refund, complete the refund request form.

All courses need two approvals to show up on your locker transcript. The first approval comes from viaSport and the second approval comes from the Coaching Association of Canada. For online courses, this process will take about 7-10 days.  Inperson deliveries may take longer to show up in your account.

The Coaching Association of Canada does not issue certificates. If you are looking to show proof of education you can print your coaching transcript from The Locker system.

To print your locker transcript:

  • Log into The Locker
  • Click Profile
  • Click Certification
  • Click the print icon on the top right beside coaching status

On average home study workbooks take about 1.5 times longer to complete than a live delivery. This can range from 6 to 12 hours depending on the course. Once you have completed the workbook, it needs to be marked by the tutor.

Grading can take up to 2 weeks to mark depending on tutor availability. Given the number of workbooks received and tutor availability, requests to fast track or mark workbooks more quickly cannot be accepted.

Please ensure that you plan time appropriately to successfully complete your desired home study module.

The Coaching Association has stressed the importance of using the Adobe software (free version) for the workbooks to operate function Properly. Please follow the instructions below on your desktop to resolve your issue.
