Aug 29, 2016
The BC Sports Hall of Fame has been celebrating an exciting 50th anniversary year by providing more outreach and community engagement than ever before, with trips around the province to engage people in sport history. Additionally. the BC Sports Hall of Fame celebrated its 50th birthday on Tuesday August 23rd, 2016 at the Pacific National Exhibition with Hall of Famers galore. Armed with Olympic medals and smiles, BC Sports Hall of Fame Honored Members helped to share the Hall’s special day with the thousands of PNE guests, and truly inspired each and every young future Olympian and Paralympian they spoke with.
Our next upcoming special event is the BC Sports Hall of Fame Tournament of Champions on Tuesday, September 13th at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course. This year’s post-tournament evening reception will include a ‘hot stove’ discussion with a high profile athlete panel. The event is open to all regardless of your participation in the golf tournament, but seating is limited – register early and bring your game to the green. Since 1966, the BC Sports Hall of Fame has inducted 363 individuals and 58 teams. Once inducted, these individuals become known as Honoured Members of the BC Sports Hall of Fame. If you know of an athlete, team, pioneer, coach, media personality, or someone who has greatly contributed to sport in our province, fill out a nomination.
