viaSport BC has partnered with BCRPA to spread awareness about PlaySafe BC
Aug 01, 2024
viaSport and BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) have partnered to promote the PlaySafe BC program. The objective of this partnership is to share the practical tools and resources of the PlaySafe BC Program throughout the 2024 calendar year with BCRPA members.
PlaySafe BC is a centralized online hub that recreation facility staff and visitors can access to learn how to make sport a place where people can thrive, flourish, and perform at their best. This partnership further enables viaSport and BCRPA to focus on shared purpose and values around promoting physical activity in the province.
“At viaSport, we believe that everyone can be part of creating a positive sport culture,” says Charlene Krepiakevich, CEO of viaSport BC. “We are thrilled to be working with BCRPA to share our PlaySafe BC tools and advance a greater understanding of safe sport with recreation leaders across BC.”
BCRPA represents 106 local governments in BC and over 4900 recreation and parks leaders, community organizations and businesses. Since 1958, they have provided leadership, training and support, fostering the principles of accessibility, equity and inclusion to help their members meet provincial and local health and physical activity priorities that improve the quality of life of every British Columbian.
“The exemplary PlaySafe BC training offered by viaSport is a capacity builder for our sector,” says Katie Fenn, CEO of BCRPA. “We are so pleased to partner with them as we jointly endeavour to build safe and healthy communities.”
