viaSport launches new grant supporting gender equity for sport in BC

Launching today, viaSport has opened a new grant supporting gender equity for sport in British Columbia.
The Professional Development Fund for Advancing Gender Equity in Sport will provide funding for individuals to attend courses, conferences and other educational opportunities. This training will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to lead or advocate gender equity within their own programs and organizations.
Examples of upcoming professional development opportunities include the Every Women Conference coming to Whistler, BC in May or the Women in Sport Conversation happening in Quebec in June.
The Fund will help cover the cost of registration fees and travel expenses up to $1,000 per individual.
The first intake of this grant is open April 1 – April 17, 2015 at 11:59 pm PT.
