Have your say in making sport safer!
Join one of four focus group sessions in April to help us enhance our Flag Tool for Sport. The Flag Tool helps you identify if a behaviour you’ve experienced or witnessed in sport is ok or not – and informs you what you can do about it.
Safety in sport affects everyone in the sport community and involves much more than just preventing injury. The Flag Tool is part of our PlaySafe BC program, which empowers individuals and communities through awareness and education to make sport better so everyone can do their best and have fun.
In April, we are hosting multiple focus group sessions to improve Flag Tool and make it more user-friendly and meaningful.
The 90-minute focus group sessions will be facilitated by Fractal Communications in an online environment. Anyone who is involved in organized sport in BC is eligible to register to be selected to participate. Selected participants will receive a $50 honorarium in the form of VISA gift card after completion of their session.
Focus Group dates:
- Monday, April 15, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm (PST)
- Tuesday, April 16, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm (PST)
- Wednesday, April 24, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm (PST)
- Friday, April 26, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm (PST)
We believe that engaging with people from different backgrounds and perspectives enhances our ability to address challenges and develop creative solutions. To ensure each focus group represents a diverse range of perspectives, we kindly ask you to self-identify in various areas of diversity when registering. Your responses are confidential and will only be used to form inclusive focus groups with similar participant roles (i.e. athletes with other athletes). The selection process will prioritize the diversity of participants to ensure that different participant roles are included.
For those selected, a meeting link will be provided upon confirmation. If there are more people interested than spots available, people will be selected based on participant availability, involvement in sport, and other factors that help ensure a wide variety of perspectives will be included.
